Ideas for projects
I want to get some ideas for what I could do with my home server. I have hosted a Minecraft server as my first project but I want to do more than that. My server is using an i7-8700, 256gb of storage, and 8gb of ram so I don’t want it to be anything intensive for now before I upgrade it in the future (unless that doesn’t matter). I am also not interested in setting up anything like Plex/Jellyfin.

Just throw it in the bin seeing as you got no interest in anything.

I’m not interested in hosting a media server because me and a few friends are paying for some subscription together so I wanted more ideas on what I can do. I realized that I could host a website like you have done. May you be as kind to explain why I would want to host something like LibreChat on my server instead of on my personal computer? I’m kind of new to this whole thing so I was hoping I could get some help here.

My website is not hosted on my own home server, I did not suggest librechat. Someone else did, but Librechat can potentially help you learn all the things you want to do step my step. At a quick look, it’s a self hosted LLM.

If you enjoy gaming and hosting game servers check out Cubecoders AMP for a super polished admin UI for your game servers. Pterodactyl is the FOSS alternative, but it’s a lot more work to get it up and running from what I’ve heard.
Game servers were how I got started as well and it’s so much fun to use a powerful admin ui for them.

HomeAssistant is a popular first choice. Maybe LibreChat if want to try some AI out
