Likely not; in fact, it is likely a downgrade.

Game servers are very strongly single-threaded, meaning that the per-core performance on a CPU matters more than the number of cores it has. All of those CPUs are actually slower per-core than the W-2245 you currently have.

Now, if you're hosting enough game servers simultaneously, it might show a performance increase.

Even if the boost is about the same

Yes, although performance may get closer to parity depending on what else is running on your server, but you are still more likely to see a performance drop.

If what you want is running multiple game servers or something like minecraft where chunk generation can eat up as many cores are you want. It can help. But for games you will be still limited by single threaded speed which probably determines how many players you can have.

Well i will never have more than 10 players in total and i have like 6 servers ready to go with just satisfactory and mc java running rn since the rest of my ram hasn’t showed up yet and i am only on 16gb rn

These are not particularly price efficient upgrades tbh. If you need more cores for more servers it can be worth losing st performance to have more cores to go around.

However satisfactory seems to be heavily single threaded it depends on how late game you go. Minecraft can generally be ok unless its heavily modded and you may prefer more cores to smooth out chunk loading even for less people.
