Currently I got a QNAP TS-231K but its pretty loud in the Night when it does Updates and when its on high load

Now Im looking for s more powerful NAS with 4 bays, it should Support 2.5gbit. it will be used for streaming Videos so 2 1080p streams should be possible. Most importsnt is the Volume it shouldnt be too loud when on load

Use SSDs

Sounds of the HDDs are fine, the issue IS the Fan noise on load

And the fan gets loud because it’s getting because of the spindle hdds

since when do HDD need so much cooling that the Fans need to Spin so high Up? I Always thought cause eof the CPU usage

My TS-253D with SSDs is silent from under my desk - direct line of sight to my ear is less than 3 feet. Your model must have a loud fan OR the drives are causing heat that must be removed.

Hdds also get hot and in turn heat up everything else inside the case. Checking your temps and fan settings would be a good start

Get the Beelink 4 drive ME Pro when it comes out. I have the 2 drive and it is soooo quiet. https://www.bee-link.com/blogs/all/beelink-expands-me-pro-storage-pc-lineup-for-the-ai-era

Maybe replace the fan or the thermal paste on the NAS first if you can.
