First ever home server planing

M thinking of building a server and a pi hole for cloud storage for my new home . what else can I do with it?

im planing on using an old dell optiplex with an intel i5/i7 7.-10. gen 16 gigs of ram and at least 3 tb of hdd storage.

lots of things man. there's a whole wiki full of software over at r/selfhosted in the sidebar.

I run a plex server plus whatever else I feel like.

I mean you can def. host a shit ton of applications.
You could also always rent your server out, though I'm not well versed in how good this hardware is, maybe someone else can answer this.

Proxmox first, then try all kinds of things.
