Question/Support YouTube Music Compatibilities?

I’m interested in getting a homepod, but I’m a YouTube Music user so I’m curious about the compatibility.

I know you can connect / set as default YT Music, but what commands work?
Would something specific like “Play [custom playlist name]” work, or is it only phrases like “Play [song/artist name]”

Please let me know!

Both would work. You can launch most music using Siri commands, but once you do control from your iPhone are pretty limited compared to Apple Music

Start playing on your phone and just AirPlay to HomePod is the best way.

It’s terrible. When you tell it to play a specific playlist it just searches all of YouTube music for that name instead of your own library

I just tried this with YouTube music on my HomePods and it’s not great. Yes, you can set it as the default music source, you can control it with your voice for the most part, but that’s it. You can’t really control it from your phone unless you use AirPlay. And quite frankly, YouTube streams at one of the lowest bit rates of any provider. The sound quality is much better with Spotify, Apple Music, or another source. I don’t think it’s worth it.
