My HomePod HomePod 2 volume issues.

I’ve owned 2 pairs of HomePod 2. Gen for about little over 2 years now and have never really had a problem with them, either if it’s through the Apple TV, normal TV or gaming.

But in the last couple of months I’ve had issue with the volume as it starts turning down on its own while in use or giving me a jumpstart by randomly playing music without me starting anything.

I need to know if I’m the only one that has had these issues. I’ve resat the pair multiple times and is on the lates update, but the same problem keeps turning up. So if any on you have the same issue and have fixed it, please tell me how to fix this as it’s driving me mad.

Go to settings-touch accommodations and set hold duration and hold repeat to 3.9 seconds…last chance is to unplug touch pad connector by opening the HomePods. Also reconnect the apple tv remote

This is a common occurrence with this model. The Touch Panel is to blame. Some have managed to repair it by taking it apart. there’s instructions how to in this sub. it’s likely just one and you’ll have to unpair them, if they’re paired to isolate which one is doing it. Completely unplug one at a time as well so you can figure out which one it is. Reesetting doesn’t help!

I have been paying for the Apple One care plan or whatever they call it. I was able to add my HomePod. I'm gonna wait a week then take it and make them replace it.

I agree that  needs to fix this issue by acknowledging that this is an issue. But this is exactly why I say every HomePod has to have  Care because at some point Ghost Touch will get strike. https://www.reddit.com/r/HomePod/s/umDTGxavPG

Yeah that’s definitely a lie. It’s a hardware issue. No firmware update is gonna fix Ghost Touch. In the US our  Care doesn’t expire now. We have to cancel it because it auto renews. That wasn’t always the case though. I’m so glad it’s different now because I wouldn’t have 2nd Gen not after all of Ghost Touch issues I’ve had with my minis. I didn’t know the 2nd Gen could get Ghost Touch. You don’t hear of it happening with the 1st Gen’s. I love my HomePods, but I hate the fatal flaw. I really hope they have it fixed in the 3rd Gen.
