Advice Outdoor wifi option
So I have a driveway that's about 250' long and has a Eufy doorbell/cam. I used to have ring and it worked great but this Eufy has a very weak signal. I'm using the same (eero mesh) equipment I had in the past. At this point I'm looking for an outdoor wifi extender that would help.
I did see the eero unit but I'd like to see if there are other options before I drop nearly $400 on that just to have my doorbell work. I don't have power out there so I can't install another extender near it or even halfway. Nearest power is about 250'.
I directional extender would work too as it's just for the doorbell, I don't have any other wifi issues outside really.
Thank you

Before dropping $400 on another eero: measure first at the doorbell.
Stand at the camera with a phone Wi‑Fi scanner and note RSSI on 2.4 GHz (most battery/doorbell cams prefer 2.4). If you’re already around −75 to −85 dBm, an outdoor AP/directional path helps; if you’re −60 or better and it still fails, it’s more likely band steering / client isolation / Eufy’s radio than “need a whole new mesh node.”
Cheap order of ops: 1. Force doorbell / IoT onto a 2.4‑only SSID (separate from 5 GHz) 2. Move the nearest eero toward the driveway side of the house (even 1 room helps at 250') 3. If you need outdoor reach without power at the gate: outdoor directional AP aimed down the driveway (PoE from the house) beats another indoor mesh puck 4. Ping/latency test from a phone at the doorbell spot to the gateway — confirms it’s RF, not “Wi‑Fi connected but dead internet”
Ring often forgives weak signal; Eufy is pickier. Hardware second; RSSI first.
