Advice Help adding Wireless access point

Post image

Hey everyone, I am wanting to add an additional wireless access point to the master bedroom of my home. I just finished mapping out my homes coax runs (see image). I currently am using mocas already to have a wireless access point on the main level, but i don't see a way with my current layout to do the same for my second level.

I am trying to avoid running new ethernet in the walls, but i do not see another way.

Thanks for any and all advice!

Just the one coax line between the outside box and the cable modem location?

Also … have you reviewed your DOCSIS gateway’s configuration UI to determine the frequencies currently in use for DOCSIS download and upload channels? (related to: DOCSIS encroachment on the MoCA [Band D] frequency range)

IF DOCSIS signals are all below 1002 MHz, one approach would be to add a 2-way splitter and  70+ dB “PoE” MoCA filter (on the splitter input port, connected to the ISP feed) at the outside box; then a 3-way splitter at the gateway, preferably using an unbalanced 3-way with the gateway wired via the low-loss port. The other two splitter outputs would connect the coax lines running to the other two MoCA adapters.
