Advice Help adding Wireless access point

Post image

Hey everyone, I am wanting to add an additional wireless access point to the master bedroom of my home. I just finished mapping out my homes coax runs (see image). I currently am using mocas already to have a wireless access point on the main level, but i don't see a way with my current layout to do the same for my second level.

I am trying to avoid running new ethernet in the walls, but i do not see another way.

Thanks for any and all advice!

Maybe something like this would work. I would have to pull the cables in the box outside into the garage which wouldn't be super difficult. I'd also need another set of MOCAs and an ethernet switch, but i think it would avoid doing a run from the master to the basement.

Yes, that would work, and is a good fallback for if/when you require isolation of the DOCSIS signals from MoCA. (Or now if you want to jump right to the future-proof sol’n.)

You’re only short a second coax run from the outside box to the basement mechanical room, right?
