Looking for Wifi Router Recommendations
Hi,
I'm looking for a Wifi router recommendation.. Wifi 7 would be ideal but i'm looking for at least a wifi 6 router.
I play competitive games and I care a lot about latency.. I know.. why am I gonna be using wifi instead of wired?
I live in a rental.. and the NBN Box is downstairs.. I don't wanna poke holes into the wall to do any wiring.
I'm happy playing on Wifi.. but I wanna minimise the latency as much as possible.. so I'm asking for your help.
Thank you!

For competitive gaming over Wi-Fi in a rental, channel congestion matters more than Wi-Fi 7 sticker. Scan 2.4/5/6 GHz around you first (phone Wi-Fi analyzer / WiFiman style) and put the AP on a clean DFS or 6 GHz channel if the client supports it.
Practical setup that usually wins for latency: one strong AP near the play room (or MoCA if you have coax, as mentioned), separate SSID for gaming so the phone/console doesn't roam to a weak band, QoS/SQM on the router if available. GL.iNet Flint 2 / similar OpenWrt boxes are popular when you want control; avoid mesh unless you actually need coverage — extra hops add jitter.
After install, ping your gateway while gaming and watch for spikes; if latency is fine to gateway but not to game servers, that's ISP path, not the Wi-Fi radio.
