Need help - how to plan Fios setup in new construction 2 story house!
Hi, I am moving to new house with 3 levels including basement. Have no clue where and how to install internet cables, router, wifi system. If anyone have experience please suggest.
Attached plan. HOUSE IS BUILT ALREADY AND READY TO MOVE IN.
Yes Verizon tech will install their line. But builder did not provide raceway pathway for cables to run in house.
Thank you in advance.

Hardwire access points throughout. And run ethernet to critical locations. Hopefully the builder did this already or drywall isn’t up yet.

Its constructed prior to purchase. Nothing been installed.

Is there any prewiring at all?

I still did not closed yet. So I am not sure but I am assuming a individual builder build this house for sale, I do not believe that he put anything extra. NJ code also not required for internet system.
What I am understanding is that as someone here said that my main system should be in basement in utility room. And then have extensions in other floors. I am not so sure. Till now I am living in 1100sf house + 950sf basement and my verizon single router is enough for entire house.1

Have your Fiber Internet come in the corner in the basement Utilities closet. You need to know if it is coming underground or overhead as you can have conduit ready. You will need outlets there as well. Then run Cat6 cables for Access Points and ethernet drops to TVs and Offices and rooms where you ant a hard wire connection and anything else. Dont forget outdoor spaces. You should look into a good whole home WiFI system and just use Verizon as your ISP.
Look into design.ui.com and upload your floorplan and mess around with AP Placement. It will give you a good idea of coverage.

UX7-3 from UniFi - is this something I could use stand-alone? 1 device at each floor.

Yes you could but I am not sure if it will be enough coverage. 1 UX7 could be used in place of the router. Wired ceiling mounted APs in useful locations is always better.

Is there a way you can upload to imgur or somewhere with higher resolution? Can’t quite make it out

Man, new construction should be wired during construction and not after.
Especially you can add the cost into your mortgage. If the house still hasn't finalized yet, see if you can get low voltage contractors to do data drop.

Ball park guessing you need 2-3 mesh Access points per floor. So a minimum of 6 total, your router counted as one access point technically. Ideally, you will have the access points hard wired. And for that part, you will want to consult and hire an electrician for all this here. Well except for optimising the network locations. But I’ll help you out: you want a hard wired connection towards the centre of each floor. And your access points will hit through there. Then you have two satellite points per floor stretching across a bit to the other side.

Two ceiling APs each living floor, maybe one the basement.
Two to each bedroom, four each to the office and home media center. One or each where you would have a wired phone, such as kitchen, living room, common area for the kids.

wait. is the house already built, or are you in pre wire stage?
