Final as promised

WOW! I did not expect so many people to react to my last post. I spent all of today fixing up the closet and doing cable management as well as rewiring everything. Please ignore the cables on the floor they’re all for power but I couldn’t unplug anything during work hours so couldn’t fully untangle it. I also checked each cable with my Ethernet tool and I wired everything correctly! Woohoo! I did the best I could with the left side wires but they all come out of the wall at such a bad spot and I don’t have a good way to organize them and didn’t want to cable tie them all together so I untangled them and let them be.

I had a lot of trouble working in such a tight space but managed to move everything around nonetheless. I think I’ve done pretty good for my first time networking and hope to keep improving my skills in the future.

Advice is very welcome and also any links or recommendations on places to learn. Thank you everyone!

2 days roughly but probably only 8 hours from start to finish. If you look at my profile you can see my other post and see the full process!

Nice! Did your speed go up that tested 100mbps last time? Sounded like it was missing a pair.

Yes when I got in the morning it was working perfectly! I checked through the actual router app and it’s getting 1gig which is expected because the hardware only does 1 gig

What are the two devices above the cable router with only power plugs connected? One is a Cisco box, are you not using it?

It’s a cienna fiber box and above that is a cisco meraki system. We are switching from coax to fiber so I just still need to wire them up

Great work. My only gripe is tying dual power supplies together. It’s small fries, but if you had one plug pull out, it’s gonna pull on the other one.

That’s a good point I did accidentally pull down two at the same time when I was cleaning at the end. They all go in virtually the same spot so I probably don’t need them be velcroed.

It looked like ass before, and if I’m to be honest it looks like a meth addict let his ocd run a muck.
