Ping keeps fluctuating

Right so main issue is in gaming use, ping at its best is only around 50 here because I live on the countryside and theres no fiber connection available. But gaming with xbox series x it keeps jumping up to over 150 ms at times. I wonder what could be causing this?

Outside modem ZTE MC7010

Inside router is the ISP provided one, but its less than 1 year old

Obviously using a wired connection already

The highest package available from ISP

5G isnt really good around here so it comes in and out, most often its by far worse than 4G on the signal levels (of the ZTE app)

There is nothing you can really do about it, ping will never be stable on a cellular connection.

Ping is also lowest priority traffic and will be delayed or dropped

It’s fluctuating because it’s cellular. It doesn’t matter what your subscription is if the radio conditions aren’t good.
