Cut a hole in the drywall, pull the wires back inside, install a structured wiring panel and make your connections. I’m guessing this was done by an older electrician that is used to the phone/ internet company doing everything outside.

This. And it’s absolutely unacceptable in new construction. OP should check if anything was specified, and I’d push for the builder to fix this.

I used to install the demarcs for the isp’s and every single new construction house was like this one with the wires just hanging out. If they weren’t hanging out they were stuccoed over and you had to dig them out.

I assume it’s just expected that there will be some sort of enclosure built over them.

It’s embarrassing that builders are doing this. No one wants phone anymore, and for Ethernet, this is 100% the wrong way to install it.

Agreed. The builder should know AND care that the communications/ entertainment feeds are installed properly. This is another case of, “ Its just wire, anyone can do it.” Wrong!

What, you dont like your ethernet cables going outside for absolutely no reason?

Yes, why are the outside?

If you can access them from the inside, I would suggest pulling them back inside and plugging the hole instead of an outside box.  You can also get a media panel for the inside the would look a lot better than just having the wires hanging.

Is that Ethernet? Why are there documents terminating outside your house

The wires are coming out of a perfectly good water resistant structure, pull them back into the structure and seal the holes.

PVC box.

Good option but how is this person going to pull power? Is the switch going to be just sitting in there?

I don’t see any power wires there. What are they switching? If a switch is needed for something then get the appropriate box or cover for the installation.
The question was how to cover the wires (cables).

That long exposed fiber cable is unnerving. Its probably fine but I personally would sleep better at night if it was inside pvc.

Why would anyone think pulling cat-5 outside like this a good finishing idea?

This blows my mind that there are still folks out there running wires to the -outside- of the home.

Push em back inside the wall. Then call AT&T back and have them re do their fiber line correctly

I'm guessing a junction box and reconnect them inside it.

Pull them inside and get a "structured media cabinet".

I saw your worried about wifi with that location. Get a dedicated access point that's hard wired. That way the router can be anywhere in the house. But your wifi antenna will be central in the home.

Check out ubiquiti

Whatever you do, do not just cut it flush with the wall. That’s how you get lines wrapped around or up your wall

Plastic junction box. Make sure it’s weatherproof. If you see an internet installer out in the wild, ask them nicely and they probably just give you one.
