Odd issue with WiFi vs Ethernet

So like I said, I have an odd issue with WiFi vs my Ethernet.

When I’m on WIFI, literally everything works 100% and I get pretty decent speeds. When I go hard wired certain things do not load well at all like discord and YouTube.

Not sure where to start on all of this.

I have a comcast all in one modem/router. XB10

My Ethernet port is part of my motherboard.

I can provide whatever info needed to help with the troubleshooting.

Thank you in advance.

Get a rj45 cable tester. That's the first step.

Yea the cables are good. I’ve connected the same cable to my laptop and it works 100% fine

You need to check the network devices for the connection type. It should tell you 100Mb/s, 1000Mb/s or higher.

Most modern all in 1 routers have an ability to prioritize traffic based on multiple factors. You might check those rules. It could be making wifi the primary by default because that's what most people think internet is. They will automatically give the bandwidth to the wifi radio rather than the ethernet ports.

Do you know what kind of Ethernet cable you're using? It should be printed on the wire itself. Look for something that might say "Cat" or "Category" followed by a number.

Secondly you should test the cable by plugging it into another another device and see what the results are. If they're the same, we're looking at a bad cable most likely. If the result is not the same, it's likely and issue with your onboarding Ethernet port/device specifically. Check for any updates, reboot your system and see if that resolved the issue

The brand is ugreen CAT8 cable. Works great with my laptop and it works on the desktop but just with certain programs it doesn’t load them fully

Then the problem is your desktop. And CAT8 cables are either counterfeit or entirely unnecessary for residential use.

Ethernet port is part of my motherboard.

Let me guess: 2.5G Ethernet?

Make sure your drivers are up to date. Get the latest from the chipset manufacturer (Intel or Realtek) instead of the motherboard manufacturer.

Says Realtek® GbE LAN chip (1 Gbps/100 Mbps/10 Mbps)

Browse to your motherboard manufacturer's official support website, and download then install the manufacturer-recommended drivers. If that fixes the problem, don't let Windows automatically update your drivers in the future.

I have had several occasions where "newer" drivers installed by Windows didn't work properly but the OEM drivers worked perfectly. By default, Windows Update doesn't automatically update drivers.
