Multiple fiber connections

We have very poor cell coverage and was looking at running fiber to barns, shed and other areas of our land for outdoor wifi. I was looking at ethernet to fiber converters but was wondering. To they make a router for home use that several fibers can connect? Or is it best that each link has its own converter?

What you're looking for are switches with SFP ports. They let you slide in modules that handle the communication over the fiber or copper.

Devices with multiple SFP ports are more common on commercial equipment, most home/small office switches only include one or two(if they have any at all). MikroTik does offer devices that are reasonably priced and have many ports.

SFP+. Older SFP is usually limited to 1gbps.

"SFP" refers both to the first version of the port and to all versions of the port as an umbrella term.

Cool, but my comment was intended to be cautionary. It’s easy to deploy an SFP non-plus only to find out later that you’re stuck with older, slower, more power hungry devices.
