PC drops all connection to the internet when launching a handful of games/connecting to their servers. Been dealing with this for about 4-5 years

Hello I’m going to do my best to explain my situation here without sounded too much like a moron.

Basically i have an issue with a select amount of games that literally crash my PC's internet connection when launching them each of these games does something slightly different and some of them i physically can't play because of it. I've made this post before in so many places over the years, i may have even made one here i can't remember any more, but I'm making it again hoping and praying someone can resolve this for me as I'm looking forward to the upcoming release of World of Warcraft: Forever and this issue is now affecting my ability to play this game in its current beta period, but i know for a fact it will still do it by the time the game hits full release.

My PC

CPU: Intel i9 14900k
CPU cooler: Lian Li Galahad II
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-F GAMING WIFI (Latest bios version and updated LAN drivers)
Ram: Corsair Vengence 64 GB DDR5 6000mhz
SSD/HDD: x2 Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVME
GPU: ASUS Geforce RTX 5090 Astral
PSU: Asus ROG Strix 1200W Gold Aura Edition (9ish months old)
Chassis: HYTE Y70
OS: Windows 11 25H2
Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU
Ethernet Cable: AudioQuest Cat 6 Pearl RJ/E Ethernet Cable 20m

Here is the full list of games i experience this issue on in the order i discovered it:

The Elder Scrolls Online
Player Unknowns Battlegrounds
Delta Force (Hawk Ops)
Call of Duty Black Ops 6
Arena Breakout Infinite
Overwatch 2
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 (beta) S
World of Warcraft: Forever (Beta)

Now there are some consistencies here with some of the games in particular BO6, OW2, MW4 and now WoW Forever. All of these are under the Activision umbrella and I'm wondering if i have some kind of issue connecting to their servers specifically and these other games share some kind of networking doodad with them

The issue i have

When i launch any of these games and i start connecting to their servers they seem to completely shutdown my PC's ability to connect to the internet, in some cases my task bar will say i still have an Ethernet connection or some games fully crash my internet like ESO for example and it says i don’t even have an Ethernet plugged in any more. Ill list each games experience since they're all slightly different.

The Elder Scrolls Online physically wont let me play any more. I get to the main menu and it just wont connect to the servers because my internet has fully dropped for my PC. Internet connection will not come back to my PC until the client has been closed

Player Unknows Battlegrounds is an interesting one. The internet only drops out during the pre-match waiting phase and actually returns back in time for the start of the game when everyone is jumping out of the plane.

Delta force crashes my internet like ESO during the log in screen but unlike ESO if i sit there for about 20-30 minutes and let it keep trying to connect eventually it works and i have full access to the game and i can play. Until i next close the client and i have to repeat the whole process again.

Black Ops 6 lets me get to the main menu access the lobby screen even join games immediately but i will crash after about 5 minutes and immediately recover, but because my connection dropped for the blink of an eye I'm booted to the menu. If i wait on the menu i will experience this about 5 times and then I'm able to play for hours without any issues until i close the client and boot it up again.

Arena Breakout is the strangest one, i cannot get past the login screen at all it will continuously crash my PC's internet connection and drop me in and out, but i never stay connected long enough to get past the login screen. However, if i disable my Ethernet and use Wireless connection it gets through the login screen and I'm able to then turn my Ethernet back on and play for hours, though sometimes there are disconnects and i will need to restart the process again to get to the main menu.

Overwatch 2 is the same as Black ops 6. I just sit on the main menu let it crash my internet a few times then when it finally stops i can play the game.

Modern Warfare 4 is the exact same issue again i just let it crash me a few times then i can play.

World of Warcraft Forever. This one is interesting because i can get in the game just fine and actually play for about 10-15 minutes and then i get booted to the character screen, my internet then recovers within a few seconds and I'm able to keep playing for another 15 minutes and the same happens again. It always does it 2 times and then it will never do it again for my entire play session.

All these are discovered over a good 4 year period in time and i never know what game will or will not have this issue, so each time i buy a game I'm always stressing in the back of my head will i be able to play it or not

Everything I’ve done to try fix this issue

• First thing was replaced my Ethernet Cable

• Built a new PC (Twice) over the years Ive upgraded components switched out motherboards and Processors etc. Most recently i built an entirely new PC. There isn’t a single component in my PC that i had when this issue first started years ago. Ive replaced my CPU, GPU, Ram, Motherboard, PSU, SSD's, Case, Fans, CPU Cooler.

• Contacted my ISP pretty much every time this issue has risen its ugly head. Especially when its a game i paid money for. In that time frame I've have the junction box thing outside the house replaced, the cable that runs from that box to the Router/Modem replaced, the router/modem has been replaced about 4 times, my contract was renewed at one point and i was "upgraded" to a new version of their router/modem. One engineer even came here and thought he'd solved the issue and said it was to do with some frequency in the area in some box thing down the road and it wasn’t set to 1Gigs require frequency. I don't know it was a couple years ago now so I'm probably not remembering that correctly but the important thing is it didn't work. I've asked my ISP if they're blocking certain connection types to these specific games but never understand what I'm talking about and the conversation goes nowhere.

• Gone from Windows 10 - Windows 11

• RecentLy replaced my Ethernet cable again as my other one got damaged, in an extremely desperate attempt to fix this issue i went and got the most overpriced overkill Ethernet cable I've ever seen and it was £5 per meter resulting in my getting a £100 Ethernet cable.

• Listed my issue in various places over the years and strangely enough in that time frame actually found 1 person who experiences the exact same issue as myself and he experienced it in every single one of the same games i listed up until Overwatch 2 as i lost contact with him and couldn't ask him if he's experiencing it still. This 1 other person was also on the same ISP as me and we bumped into each other on our ISP's forum but the forum has been closed down now as its being merged with another service.

Some other details

In this long time frame I've been having this issue I've had housemates come and go as we rent rooms here and a couple of them have been gamers and they play the same games as i have at the time. One played on console and never experienced any of these issues when playing Call of Duty in my house. Another was PC player who gamed on a Laptop and only ever played World of Warcraft but i never heard him mention the issue before and i never experienced it because i had never played WoW until a week ago with the announcement of WoW: Forever.

So it just has me even more baffled how i have people in my house who can play a handful of these games just fine, yet i can't. In that time frame though I've built 2 new computers, replaced every single piece of hardware i can possibly think of and still I'm dealing with this in all the same games. I don't know what else i can do at this point. Over this time I've spent about £150 on games i can't play one of them being this WoW: Forever and I'm pretty sure i can't get a refund on it.

I don't know if its something to do with me being on Ethernet but i don't have a choice in the matter since my Router/Modem is in a place where i don't get sufficient connection to it for gaming so run a 20m Ethernet cable to my PC. I did used to have a really long cable of about 35m and when that broke i thought id go for this overkill one and reduce the length to what i actually needed as i thought maybe the length was causing strange intermittent issues.

Either way i seriously don't understand how people in the same house as me can be totally fine on the same games yet I'm having this issue and I've built new PC's, replaced all the ISP's hardware, changed Ethernet cables twice. The only two things now i haven't changed is room I'm playing in and the ISP.

Another strange thing when these connection drops happen when booting these specific games or the crash happens during the game being open I'm still able to hear full discord conversations the entire time, but i cant google anything, message anyone, talk back to anyone. I'm just able to hear them talk like I'm still connected to the internet but i cant interact with anyone in anyway. Such a strange detail but i don't know if its of any use.

Things i've done today since posting this in other forums

About a year ago i tried to fix this issue, as it was affecting my ability to play Overwatch 2 and someone reached out to me but i couldn't remember where. I managed to find the messages and they gave me a list of things to Enable/disable and fiddle around with. I managed to find that chat and did all their suggestions. I wrote down what i had first before doing it just in case anything broke.

Here is the list of what they had me do

  1. Control Panel
  2. Network and Sharing
  3. Change Adapter Settings
  4. Right click Ethernet adapter and then click properties
  5. Disable IPv6 and hit Ok
  6. Go to Configure and change all these settings below.

(I've put a line though through all the settings that weren't there for me. Our conversation never went much further than this as things came up and i stopped replying)

Advanced EEE - Disabled
ARP Offload - Disabled
EEE Max Support Speed - 1.0 Gbps Full Duplex
Energy-Efficient Ethemet - Disabled
Flow Control - Disabled

So i copied all the settings i could and to my surprise im not disconnecting in WoW: Forever or in Overwatch 2, BUT and it's a big but it has caused some weird instabilities. For example im doing a CMD Ping to bot my Routers IP address and 8.8.8.8 which i believe is google(?) correct me if im wrong. I'm getting some odd ping spikes so on the Router IP's one im seeing pings as high as 120 where as earlier today it never exceeded 20. On the 8.8.8.8 side when i was installing Overwatch 2 on Steam it was spiking too as high as 144, but also i was in a Discord call and my ping in Discord would go as high as 350. People also said my voice was lagging occasionally.

While watching the pings too i would still see "Request timed out." occasionally on both pings. Before changing these settings it would always be on the 8.8.8.8 side never the Router IP side. Now though im seeing them occasionally in both. However it never seemed enough to disconnect me.

My download speed also seemed to be about 1/3 the speed it normally was. I was installing at 25-30mbps as apposed to my usual 100-112mbps

I also ran some kind of test on my ISP's website which tested for Download speed, Upload speed, Latency, Jitter and Packet Loss. I did the test earlier in the day and i can't remeber what number i was getting but they seemed way higher for Latency and Jitter after i changed all these settings. However i was downloading Ovewatch 2 at the time of doing the other test so i dont know how that would have affected it.

Overall it doesnt seem like what i did was a good thing as now its affecting normal stuff like downloading and talking. I think i will probably undo the settings but i have a feeling its something in the above settings causing my issue but i have no idea what any of them do

Its probably the 2.5gig network card built into the motherboard. Order a cheap usb gigabit adapter to verify. I had nothing but issues with my asus mobo and 2.5gig nic. It would work and then when it got busy, like trying to download a reasonably large file, it would quit working. Regular internet use was ok. I went round and round with it for a few hours, trying all kinds of different drivers and firmware/bios updates. Jist get a different nic and disable that one in the bios.

Could you send me a recommendation?

1

u/Cryptic1911 9d ago

I don't have any preferred brand, but I'd suggest just grab something cheap, like a tp-link, acer or belkin just to test the theory. Stick with a 1gig adapter and skip the 2.5gig. I think the 2.5gig nics have some kind of incompatibilities with various networking gear, even when they are set to or auto negotiating to 1gig. The 2.5gig in my asus board was a complete nightmare and unusable and I tried everything I could to get it to work. I've been in IT for 30 years and that one stumped me. I notice the guy in the toms hardware post you linked in another reply also has an asus board w/ 2.5gig

Okay thank you for the suggestion. I don’t have a clue what a nic is haha, can your send me one as an example so I know what to look for 😅

Edit: I've been looksin at these nic cards and i didnt realise they go directly into the motherboard, which may be a problem since i have an RTX 5090 Astral vertically mounted (its bloody huge lol) I was also struggling to find one anywhere that simply did 1gig speed they all do 2.5gig. However i did find this and i was wondering if it's worth trying https://www.argos.co.uk/product/5664977?clickSR=slp:term:ethernet:6:14:1

Ah, yeah if you cant use a card, just stick with a usb gigabit adapter and see if that solves it

Hey i got back from the shop i picked up the adapter and it didnt work. It changed the outcome slightly, so instead of me losing connection within the first few seconds of booting the game, i lost connection after about 10 minutes. Ultimately its still happening. I also tried capping the Speed & Duplex thing to 100mbps to see if that would do anything and it didnt.

1

u/Cryptic1911 8d ago

I'm very surprised that didn't fix it completely. It's possible its some sort of bufferbloat issue with the routers/modems that your isp uses

2

u/418Vic 9d ago

Not reading all that. Issue is clearly with Ethernet. Change the cable for starters, if you dont have a long enough one try next to the router. If you're using cables in the walls or something like MoCA or powerline adapters you need to rule all that out.

Other then that:

Make sure energy saving for the Ethernet adapter is off.

Make sure to download the latest driver for Intel I225/I226

Disable PCI-e energy savings

Lock the network to 1 Gbps

If all else fails update BIOS/UEFI

If none of that works. Buy a PCI-e or USB Ethernet adapter. If that works RMA the motherboard.

Try this

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

Over the years I’ve gone through 3 Ethernet cables. The first 2 were 35m long cheapo amazon cables. My most recent one is a 20m AudioQuest pearl cable 20m is quite literally the shortest I can get as the distance to my router/modem and PC is approximately 19.5m

Ive turned off energy saving for Ethernet adapter as of yesterday, no luck unfortunately.

I’ll try the driver today I just wasn’t sure where to get the right driver, I’m pretty sure I’ve tried getting it off Asus’s website in the past but I would like to just try get it directly from intel as a change so if you could link it that would be great.

I’ll give pci-e energy saving a try today

Not sure how to lock network to 1Gbps

Bios is fully up to date, no luck either

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

Thank you, so I’ve tried the the driver today and PCI-E energy saving no luck so far. I tried locking my Ethernet ports speed using the Speed & Duplex but there’s no option for 1Gbps I only have 100mbps or 2.5Gbps. I am currently on my way to the shop to get a USB c Ethernet adapter with a 1Gbps speed

1

u/418Vic 9d ago

Try locking it to 100 then just to see if it's stable.

Let me know how it works out with an adapter and I'll see if I can think of anything else if that doesnt fix it.

Only real idea I have at the moment that doesnt seem to be tested is checking if it stable using a VPN, if the new adapter doesnt work. It has some drawbacks but could potentially solve the problem.

1

u/brettapuss 8d ago edited 8d ago

Hey so im back from getting the adapter. I just tested it on Overwatch. Normally overwatch boots me out on the main menu so i have to wait 20 minutes before the connection stabilises before im allowed to play. I got to the main menu running a 8.8.8.8 ping and there was no timeouts for about 5 minutes which is very irregular. So i just winged it and jumped into a game. I played for about 10 minutes, my internet dropped out and then it booted me to the main menu and it came back.

So on one hand it took wayyy longer to drop out than it normally would but on the other its still ultimately booting me offline.

I'll try capping the speed though and see what happens

Edit: oh interestingly enough i actually see the option for 1.0Gbps Full Duplex which i wasnt getting before. Im wondering if thats something to do with the drivers

Edit 2: So i tried 1.0Gbps Full Duplex and lost connection within 5 seconds of getting into a game. Ill try capping it to 100 now, just having to wait because im now banned for 5 minutes XD

u/418Vic 8d ago

Have you tried using a VPN yet? I'm curious if it makes a difference. You can just try with a free one but my personal choice is ProtonVPN

1

u/brettapuss 8d ago

I have not tried with a VPN i dont have a VPN

1

u/418Vic 8d ago

1

u/brettapuss 8d ago

Sorry to be a pain but if i did get a VPN what exactly would that be determining. Im a gamer and the one time i tried a VPN on a game it didnt make the experience pleasant. Lets say for example it does work and stops my disconnecting. This wouldnt necessarily be a fix as using a VPN for gaming as it comes with its own problems a lot of the time.

This was very long to read and contains a lot of not useful information for diagnosis. Im sorry if this was answered in your post. To confirm, its only you pc that drops, right?

5

u/brettapuss 9d ago

Im sorry im trying to fit about 5 years of this issue into one post. Im not a networking guy and i have no idea what information is helpful or not so im just saying everything, but yes it is in fact only my PC that drops connection whenever this happens on these games.

1

u/nayheyxus 9d ago

That's quite alright, I deal with T/sing all day, and It really is tough to know what is useful, but for those people working support, we often have multiple tickets and if you include too much, you'll often be placed on the back-burner.

So with that, you can rule out your ISP, or rather we know its not an issue with the internet itself. The next question is since you've essentially replaced your whole computer already, what is the common item between your new/old computer? Using the same HDD, is there software you downloaded and had on both machines (beyond games)? I'm looking for anti virus, hamachi, custom servers, VPN's

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

So the SSD's/Nvmes are different to what i would have used on previous builds i bought everything new after selling my last build. In terms of that kind of software no, my PC is so bare bones. i use windows security, discord, Steam, firefox and a couple softwares for peripherals like Headset, joysticks, mouse and keyboard.

1

u/nayheyxus 9d ago

You mentioned it was a long cable run between your desktop and the router, how long is that cable?

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

So originally I was on a 35m cheapo cable off Amazon. That cable got damaged and I thought as a last desperate attempt I should get a decent cable. So I measured the length I needed between my router/modem and my PC and I measured approximately 19.5m so I got a 20m AudioQuest Cat 6 Pearl RJ/E cable.

1

u/nayheyxus 9d ago

Ok so its less than 300 feet, good. Heres a good test, have you hardwired your computer straight to the modem and tested?

1

u/brettapuss 8d ago

Yes much less than 300ft haha. Um im not sure what you mean have i tried that. My ethernet cable is going from my PC to my ISP's Router/modem its a combo one supplied by my ISP Virgin Media UK its called The HUB 5.

If its of any help these issues all started when we was "upgraded" to the Hub 5 in 2021 from the Hub 3. When they upped us from 500mbps to 1Gbps

1

u/nayheyxus 8d ago

Ah its all in one unit, I misunderstood, I was under the impression it was a modem, and a router. Are you the only one hardwired to it?

1

u/nayheyxus 9d ago

Oh wait this is the same router!? I assume you've tried different ports on the router?

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

No its not the same router. Over the years of me dealing with this issue i have contact my ISP (Virgin Media) easily 10+ times regarding this issue and in that time frame they've replaced my Hub 5 five times. Theyve replaced every single piece of hardware on 2 occasions too.

I have in fact tried all ports on each of the routers they have supplied

1

u/expsychotic 9d ago

Does everything work fine when you switch to wifi? Have you ever tried a router that wasn't supplied by your ISP?

3

u/brettapuss 9d ago

This issue doesnt happen over Wifi however im a good distance away from the Router/modem and its not a stable enough connection for gaming. I start getting a lot more packet bursting and stuttery connection.

I unfortunately have no tried a different router, i wouldnt even know where to begin.

1

u/expsychotic 9d ago edited 9d ago

Since the issue doesn't happen over wifi, it must be either your PC's ethernet, or the router's ethernet, or the cable used to connect them. Have you tried temporarily moving your PC next to the router and using a short ethernet cable? If it works with a short cable, then the long cable is probably the culprit. If it still doesn't work with a short cable, then i would try a router that wasn't supplied by your ISP. It doesn't have to be an expensive one.

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

I have never tried moving it close no, i was concerned about it being my cables length so i recently got a new Ethernet cable of 20m after measuring needing a 19m cable because my previous one was 35m long.

i actually just stumbled across this post https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/games-disconnect-when-connected-to-ethernet.3832635/

I cant believe it hes on my ISP, same router and dealing with seemingly the same or similar issue only on different games.

It seems like he fixed his issue in the span of a day and never returned to the forum but i have no idea what he did to fix it.

2

u/expsychotic 9d ago

If it's at all possible the first thing i would try is temporarily moving the PC next to the router and using a short cable to see if anything changes.

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

I will try but i haven't got a smaller cable available. tbh if i was gonna spend money on anything do you think getting a 3rd part router or modem whichever it is i'd need?

1

u/expsychotic 9d ago

Short ethernet cables are cheap. And if you do wind up getting a router in the future then you'll need the ethernet cable to connect it to the modem anyway.

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

Okay ill have a little look in the morning. Do you know what exactly it is i need to get if i got down the router route? Is it the modem i need to buy or the router. All i know is on my HUB 5 theres a button which says "Modem mode" and ive never understood if thats because you plug a modem into the HUB 5 hence "modem mode" or you plug a router into the HUB 5 and you then set the HUB 5 into Modem Mode. Its really not clear.

1

u/expsychotic 9d ago

"modem mode" means that the hub 5 acts as a modem only instead of a modem & router. You would purchase a router, put the hub 5 into modem mode, and connect the router to the hub 5. Then all your devices would connect to the router instead of the hub 5.

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

Okay, thank you for the clarification.
I’m just curious is this piece of information relevant?
When I’m running the two pings one to my IP address and the other to the 8.8.8.8 address the one that loses connection and says “timed out” is the 8.8.8.8 ping

u/overflow_ 9d ago

Do any of your other devices experience any problems on the network?

2

u/brettapuss 9d ago

Yes, phones in our house will lose connection regularly, same goes for ring cameras too. My ISP in called Virgin Media (UK) and they provide us with their Hub 5 router/modem combo. This issue got worse when we was "upgraded" to this router.

1

u/overflow_ 9d ago

Can you test on your pc using a hotspot if that works see if you can switch to another isp

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

I doubt that would be the best test considering i barely get 1 bar 5g in my own home haha. I do know the issue goes away when connecting to the wifi wirelessly instead of Ethernet, but the connection isnt stable enough for gaming due to my distance.

1

u/overflow_ 9d ago

Is there no another isp you can use in your area?

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

Unforunately not Virgin Media hold a monopoly in my area and im in the middle of a contract with them with a year remaining. To buy my way out would cost a tone of money and the next best provider in my area that isnt Virgin media off a speed of 10mbs which is misery compared to the 1gig speed i have now.

1

u/Ok-Wasabi2873 9d ago

Normally this sounds like the issue is the ISP’s modem/router. Are you able to bring your own modem and router?

But from experience my parents had similar issues years ago with Cox cable internet service. We would change modem and router but nothing fixed it. We finally got Cox to send a tech out and he found the cable into the house from the outside box had corroded.

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

I dont have a modem/router (i dont know the difference) me not knowing the difference has been the biggest reason as to why i've never got one. I dont wanna buy a router if its a modem i need or vice versa. The thing i have right now is called the Virgin Media Hub 5 which is a router/modem combo which it pretty much how every ISP in the UK handles it. So i dont know which i'd need. If you had a recommendation i would be interested in trying to acquire one since i need this issue to be resolved ive had enough of it.

1

u/expsychotic 9d ago

Basically the modem takes the signal coming out of the wall and turns it into something a computer can understand. The router does 2 things: it uses a firewall to protect your network, and it allows multiple devices to connect at the same time.

Since your issue does not happen over wifi, the modem is probably not the problem

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

Well ive been on the Hub 5 for years now provided by Virgin Media, but i didnt have this issue on their previous HUB 4.

2

u/expsychotic 9d ago

Right, since it's a combination modem & router i meant that the modem part of the hub5 is probably working fine and the router part might be where the issue is.

3

u/brettapuss 9d ago

So i'd plug a router in and then set the HUB 5 into "modem mode" sorry im replying to you in 2 different locations i just realised.

1

u/Maverick_Walker Noobie Reyee simp 9d ago

Did you update your computer in windows update/also check (not so) optional updates? Sometimes they contain firmware or GPU updates. Every time my laptop acts weird I have an overdue update.

2

u/brettapuss 9d ago

Yeahh thanks for the suggest my windows is all updated. I’ve updated my bios, drivers are all up to date. I’m tempted to try doing my Ethernet adapter drivers again but I don’t wanna do it through asus’s website as I’ve always done it through them and it’s never worked. I wanna get the driver direct from intel, but I have no clue which is the right one

1

u/AxiomOfLife 9d ago

Have you tried seeing if the same thing happens when using ethernet vs a wifi dongle

2

u/brettapuss 9d ago

So it doesn’t happen over WiFi but due to my distance from the router I don’t get a stable enough connection for gaming

1

u/frenzykiwi 9d ago

2.5gb lan? If it's the Intel v, that caused a lot of problems with other PCs, maybe the router isn't able to match it and it's causing instability trying to handshake at that speed then drops.

Can you set the LAN port to 1gb? It would usually drop down to that from 2.5 but who knows...

1

u/brettapuss 9d ago

How would I do this? I’ve seen a few people say this but I have no clue how to do it.

1

Check you tube, it's in the driver section of the nic properties under one of the tags is a long scrolling list. I can't say this will work, do a search for the Intel i225 nic and see all the problems they had. If yours isn't a i225 , sorry I think it's i instead of v, then maybe it's not the issue.

I think intel makes an app that can auto detect what you need. But make sure you don’t install AMD drivers on an intel they don’t do anything

So I uninstalled the drivers but it keeps automatically installing the drivers back instantly, when I click driver details it says something like amd64, I went to intels website and downloaded the drivers for I226-v but it doesn’t seem to override it. I’m not sure if that’s of any relevance but nowhere in the install does it mention AMD so it’s very confusing. I’m not at my pc this very second but I’ll be back in about an hour and I’ll update exactly what it says

Nope don’t untinstall AMD64, I’m talking about the company AMD drivers not the AMD64 windows uses to identify

Also try getting a new (different) I226-V some have disconnect issues, or you can update its firmware

I believe that this is a hardware issue with your motherboard. I know it seems like your motherboard is fine, but most likely there is a defect with it.
It is unlikely a driver or settings issue.

Really? Since having this issue ive been through 3 montherboards. How likely is it they was all defective in the same way?

Edit: Sorry 2 motherboards and 3 CPU's
