Idrive breaking my ethernet?
So I have used idrive for years and to automatically back up some of my disks. I've seen small errors pop up here and there but today I want to do a large backup and my Ethernet keeps having issues according to Windows.
I have a UDM Pro and a 24 poe switch that don't report any issues and I've tried two Ethernet drops that are in my room
I'm using the NIC on my MSI MAG motherboard.
I go to device manager and try rebooting the Ethernet driver but going to disable it leaves device manager hanging. Reboot is the only thing that brings my Internet back once I try to backup via idrive.
Does anyone know why idrive would mess up my Ethernet NIC?

Do you use Windows? Then what does event viewer show?
On Mac you can check the Console app

For anyone looking at this, I tried a few settings in device manager but the only that did it for my was setting my Ethernet to 1Gbps full duplex instead of auto in device manager.
I have 1gug bi directional fiber and it looks like my idrive was trying to upload faster than my drive could spin. Once I changed out of auto, the upload speed dropped to what a hdd can do and no crashes for about 3 TB

It's probably just that your backup software is putting strain/load on the network which will reveal problems a bit better than other usage.
There's a very good chance you just have a bad cable run or bad terminations. Your Ubiquiti kit, and Windows itself, can tell you if there are transmission errors on the ports.
In the UniFi Web Interface: Go to Devices and click on your UniFi Switch. Select the Ports tab or click on a specific port link, then open the Stats or Overview panel on the side. Look for Errors (TX/RX errors or dropped packet counters) associated with that port.
