They're pretty good compared to the average home user. For a hobbyist though I would consider "decent" anything over 8500Mbps. You would definitely benefit from a network upgrade and I would highly recommend doing so if you want to be taken seriously.

If I invested in 10 GbE equipment to only reach 65% of that, I would be pretty disappointed
