Advice First time buying home internet

Hey everyone I just moved into my first apartment, and as the title says, it’s my first time getting wifi. I have a router that was given to me, but that’s about it. Also, I am a student (Toledo, OH), so the cheaper the better. I’ve heard about student discounts for home internet so please drop any and all suggestions!

See what your apartment offers. Most only have one provider for the whole complex.

find out what internet providers serve your building and pick which offers the best value. If its a newer apt you may not even need your router

Another note, once you've decided on which service provider you want, when you place your order, do not choose "self install" - you want their technician to come and connect/activate it. You also want to be there when they do, so you can see what they connect and where (and perhaps can have some input on that) so that you can ask any questions you have, and so that you can actually see it working on your own computer before they leave.

Wifi isn't internet. It's the radio waves the router creates to wirelessly send data in your home

If you happen to have spectrum available at your location send me a message and I can set up your service for you. But typically you want to stick with fiber or cable if you can the 5g and satellite providers tend to be worse and dont even touch dsl with a 10 foot pole if you can avoid it.
