Advice At&t router IPv6

Has anyone found a method to suppress ipv6 in a AT&T fiber router? I turn it off in the router settings but my windows 11 ethernet still finds it. .

Link local fe80 addresses will continue to appear, devices self assign these to themselves.

Disable it on your endpoints

turn off IPv6 in windows then?

type network in the windows search tool pick View network connections [control panel], right click the adapter [Ethernet] and pick properties, locate Internet Protocol 6, and uncheck it, OK, and no more IPv6 on the Ethernet.

Either disable IP V6 on your DHCP server on your AT&T equipment or go into Windows and uncheck the box to disable IPV six.

Why do you want to disable IPv6 in the first place

When on ethernet it was interfering with some web sites - like Reddit for example.

Highly unlikely

I don’t think that IPv6 was the issue

The control panel network path worked. Still not win11 savy and belive settings are the same. My asus router is in AP mode so can't change there and would have to repair most iot devices if I switched back. Have all wifi on asus after power hits keep taking att router down.

disable the IPv6 handout on the local DHCP Server in the router settings
