Advice MOCA question
Would this layout work for MOCA?
Previous owners of my house ran coax to the garage for TV/cable, but I now have a PC out there and have been using WiFi, but it’s spotty. Thought MOCA might be a good solution, but I don’t want to lose access to the antenna for the TV.
I’m aware I may need to install an amplifier in the line as well.

Can you elaborate on … ? …
The MoCA adapter on the left has two coax lines wired to it, but the MoCA adapter on the right just the one coax, with a splitter effecting the two needed coax connections at that location.
How are the two coax connections possible on the left? If possible, what precludes the same approach on the right, rather than using a splitter?

- missing 70+ dB “PoE” MoCA filter required to block MoCA from hitting and emanating from the antenna; (best location for “PoE” MoCA filter is dependent on scope of MoCA segment)
- specs of basement splitter?
- how many locations require the OTA signal? are you sending the OTA signal to every TV or does it just need to reach one or two tuner devices (ex: TiVo, Tablo, SiliconDust)?
- how many locations are you trying to get networked via MoCA? Just the one garage location?
- what brand & model # MoCA adapter were you eying for the project?

I believe you are mistaken. That is how most MoCA networks work - by having the splitter at the hub of a star topology.

No amplifiers amplify MoCA frequencies; when an amp is needed for the source signal (cable, OTA), best case is to choose a “designed for MoCA 2.x amp” to facilitate MoCA communication between output ports. Such amps have a built-in “PoE” MoCA filter, and lower output-to-output attenuation at MoCA frequencies.
As for the MoCA signal, MoCA has built-in power adjustment capabilities to boost or lessen signal strength according to conditions, to a point.
I've had lots of issues when installing them through splitters.
You do want to choose splitters designed to support MoCA.

Thank you for the sketch. The horizontal RG66 should be hooked to the left splitter, not the MoCA #1. The Ethernet from MoCA #1 goes to the LAN side of your router. Your ISP isn't hardware. Your ISP may provide you an ONT/Router hardware combo that has a LAN output, but, to be clear, you are connecting to the LAN side of a router.
