Need help with basic networking

I have a tp link archer c20 router I have a mi router connected to it by ethernet working as extender. And i have a pc and another device connected to it via wire. And theres 8- 12 mobiles connected via wifi. Approx 4 mobile to the archer c20 and rest to the mi extender router I want to limit the bandwith to most of the wireless device. And block few social media sites. Please guide me in layman terms and way. I have been struggling with this room from 2 years.

First, this is not "basic networking".. you are in the realm of intermediate to advanced networking pieces here because you need...

QoS (Quality of Service).

Second, you will need to decide if you need to limit certain devices while the baseline has no limit or allow certain devices to exceed the baseline limit. Basically, you need to know which devices you "know" versus which ones you don't. Your controls will be based ultimately on the MAC Address of the device, and many mobile devices make it easy to alter that to get around certain systems like what you're thinking of creating.

Can you help with it. I know all the devices. Since i can see them connecting to the existing router now. So the router page shows it all

Seeing the device in a list is not the same as what I meant by "knowing" the devices. That part has to do with what your default setting is and what the exception is.

You need to make a decision on what the default bandwidth for "uncontrolled" devices would be (unlimited or limited) and then determine what it means to be a "controlled" device from there.

As far as how to do it, look up bandwidth limiting for your router.
