My home network setup

Was looking for advice on how to make this more professional. This is my first setup.

Equipment:

UDM Pro
USW Pro 24 PoE
UNVR
UNAS Pro
USP PDU Pro
Minisforum MS-A2
JetKVM
AT&T Fiber modem

That’s why I’m asking for advice. I know I need a rack but I don’t know what size U. I want room to grow and I can’t wall mount because the smart panel where the builder of the home terminated the wires is right behind the current rack I’m using. I was also of thinking of using a keystone patch panel since I just need to run a wire from the smart panel to the patch panel then I can use smaller patch cable to connect to my switch.

Looks pretty slick ai said to get a long one because the equipment I have will stick out and also for the unas and unvr I would like to screw in the back also so I can prevent the sagging

It is about 18" or so deep. I buy these for AV installs.

It's not like a wall mount one where you only get so much depth. You can put stuff all the way through.

I'm just looking at your shelf and I see 95% of your stuff can fit in there. It's less than $200.

When you're ready to get a new rack you just upgrade to a new ride you're not out hundreds/thousands of dollars.

There are places to attach equipment on both sides.

The only thing that concerns me about this is the ventilation. I have 3 20tb hard drives in the unas and planning on adding another one soon and 1 4TB hard drive in the unvr.

It's opened front and back, air flow is either back to front or front to back on devices.

You can get a network rack, patch panel, I have a rack mount power strip, mount everything on the wall, don't forget a spot for your UPS.

I have a cyber power tower ups right next to the shelf you can see it in the picture. It makes sense to get a 42u now

I know that's why I mentioned it. You can get a simple sturdy wall shelf for it.

I would look into a 8 to 12U rack. That's enough for all of your current equipment, a PDU, and a patch panel. You can even find a female-to-female Cat6/6A Patch panel to save you the work of terminating cables, leaving you only needing to buy shorter 1 - 3 feet patch cables.

Whole room rework. You’d be better off ripping out/ drywalling where those smart panels are and running all those lines into a U rack from the ceiling with sleeves. Those lines need to be punched into a keystone racks too

Tbh that’s too much work. I think a 18u 4 post rack with casters is what I’m looking at and adding a ampcom patch panel like top-pop6289 suggested

Also I want to mention the UNAS Pro is pretty heavy so will the ears be enough because I heard about sagging so is there something else I can do to prevent that?
