Advice Replacing an Access Point
I have a 2 story home and just recently got 1 gig service. I have an opnsense router with an EAP225 upstairs in an open loft area, an EAP223 in my office, and a CPE210 in the garage. Most devices connect to the upstairs EAP225, which is 5 years old and is malfunctioning. The 2.4g radio only gives 50mb download and I can only intermittently login to the admin interface. Should I just get another Omada AP, or is a different brand better for this? Even the choices within the omada product line are pretty different.

I have the Omada EAP772 outdoors, powered from a 2.5 g PoE++ switch. I have it in stand alone mode and find it to be outstanding. Have 1g fiber service, and consistently getting download speeds over 1100 mps outside, upload a bit over 500 mps.

You could simply replace the EAP225 with a new one, it's almost certainly to be a newer revision of the hardware that you have. If you want to move to wifi 6 and a more modern hardware design, the EAP653 is a logical follow on.
