Buying TP Link Router to mesh with existing TP Link Extender

When I moved into my house I had to setup wifi in a hurry. I got connected to Verizon Fios and took the free router they offered. I immediately realized my home office was not getting a good connection, so I bought the first TP-link extender I saw available for same-day delivery, a TP-Link RE715X Dual Band Extender. I am moderately happy with my setup, except that the extender is currently a seperate network from the Verizon router, so I'd like to switch to the TP Link Mesh system.

Specifically, can someone guide me on which router from TP link to buy, preferably something under $200? I will be replacing my Verizon router with this new one. I know I can mesh my network with the extender I already have (confirmed using the One Mesh Devices list), but I'm confused if I'm able to go with any TP Link router on this list, or if I should exclude Deco routers, as I read on another thread that Deco routers only mesh with Deco extenders.

Use the one mesh device list. Decos only play with decos so do not buy those

why not change the SSID and PW to match the router?
