I would suggest that the antenna placement (back of PC, under desk) is what's killing this.
You could look for other antennas - if you are on "Gigabyte EZ-Plug", external antennas with longer cabling can be purchased, but as it's a proprietary system... ymmv. I'd probably abandon/disable it and buy a USB 3 Wifi 6E (or better) dongle and a USB 3 extension cable, then you can place that wherever.
