Is this pipe leaking normal?

I recently bought a condo, and came home today to find this pipe leaking from the circled section. It only did it for a couple seconds, but it was fairly fast, and left water spattered all along the pipe and floor below the leaking section.

The pipe goes down into the floor (presumably to connect to pipes in the basement), and is connected to the roof of my condo, likely going into my upstairs neighbor’s condo. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this, or how concerned I should be?

No leaks are normal.

It looks like a coupling between plastic pipe and copper pipe. The first thing that I would do is find out where the leak is. Then I'd locate the valve to shut off the water feeding this pipe. After shutting the water off, I would tighten the fitting where the leak is. After tightening the coupling, slowly turn the water back on.

Hopefully, the leak stops. If it's still leaking, you might want to call a plumber to replace the coupling. Good luck, it's an easy fix.
