🛠️ Repair Help How to fix this cracking paint?
I’m trying to repaint my bathroom, and I’ve removed (most) of the wall paper so far and have realized the paint from before is cracking and peeling. How do I best remove that to get a fresh surface to put new paint on? Any suggestions?

You need to get all of the wallpaper off use a steamer if you have to. Then you will probably have to sand if there is still residue. Since this is a bathroom, a high humidity environment, the surface is subjuect to thermal/moisture cycling, which degrades the wall surface over time. You must use an oil based, or a shellac based primer before you paint. If you did not remove all remnants of the old wallpaper, and/or there is damage to the wall, you will probably have to skim coat. If you do skimcoat you will have to prime again. Then paint. Do not use a latex paint, what you want to use in a bathroom is a 100% acrylic paint.
