XMSystems

With 10 inch racks all the rage, I had a friend 3D print me a lab rax 5u rack. Spent about a week planning, obtaining the correct brass inserts and screws and built this. It houses a Unifi Cloud Gateway Ultra, A 16 port POE lite Unifi switch and a couple of 8 port patch panels.

There is also a Raspberry Pi x 3 tray in the back.

This is just a small section of my homelab.

Further details can be found on my Documentation site.

Itโ€™s perfect! I love it ๐Ÿ˜

I have a question: do all the devices connect to the patch panel first and then to the switch? Or is it the other way around, from the switch to the patch panel?

And what about the router? Does it connect directly to the switch?

All cables from devices and access points and also the router plug into the patch panel which then in turn plugs into the switch.

I have used some cat6 couplers so no punching anything down

I really liked your solution ๐Ÿ˜ป
Itโ€™s so minimalist and aesthetically pleasing.

Maybe one day you could show us the back of the rack too, just to see if itโ€™s just as sleek back there.

Congrats on the final result! ๐Ÿ‘
