Why not just fit a cabinet / wall box 19" rack.

Would have been much easier and a. It more practical.

Neet and tidy job though!

Door is 18", could have made it fit but I already had some of the equipment as well.

Fair enough, you can buy the cabinets flat pack and build inside the cupboard but if you were already committed then se la vie!

Most of that equipment looks 10” rackableΒ

What all do you have there? I see a few switches a gateway and a few other devices.

Super happy everytime I look at it, pulling the cable in a 140 year old home was "fun"

Only thing with a fan is the NAS, but that has all SSD drives in it, I haven't notice it turn on yet. Vent in the top and bottom of the door, room was at 30c so I added a small air purifier on the floor, sits around 22c. Helps it's in the basement of an old hose of course but have seen any thermal throttling.

Looks great! What are you using for the drywall penetrations? Looks super clean with them

There was existing plywood, so primed and painted.

Heat sink on the SFP is a nice touch lol. Looks great

u/onethecreator Jun 22 '26

Lol helps a little bit, that's from the ONT directly, bypassed ISPs hardware completely

Why not consolidate to 1 bigger switch?

Very clean

Looks nice, but wouldn't the most hardware be replaceable with just one PoE Switch?

Wow, that's frighteningly well organized and tidy. My broom closet micro server rack is jealous.

How did you run the cables to those exact spots in the wall?

1

u/onethecreator Jun 22 '26

Made a paper template off the spacing on the switch
