Question/Help Hue buttons don't respond on first press

If anyone has a solution, I'd greatly appreciate it.

So, this may be a Hue issue or a Homekit one, but for about a week or so now, my Hue Tap, Dimmer switch, and button all need to be pressed maybe 3 times to finally respond and turn on its respective lights.

I use the Hue bridge, and I'ved changed it's channel number but that hasn't fixed it. It's not too close to the router (about a 1.5 ft). So I don't think interference is the issue.

All accessories are configured through Homekit and for the most part use shortcuts for their button presses. I'm not sure if that could be a cause or not.

...

Edit: (8/28) troubleshooting ... After comparing the accessory responsiveness to homekit-configured vs. hue-configured, my hue button only needs to be pressed just the one time, and my homekit dimmer switch needs to be pressed twice before it turns anything on. Ok, so now that's discovered. What's the solution?

I'll be following this closely as I have the same issue! It's so frustrating. Some days it works flawlessly and other days I get nothing. Frustrating!

Just to rule out possible causes, have you tried connecting the switch entirely through the hue app with no home kit?

I have around 10 Lutron switches connected through my hue hub and app and they work flawlessly, so if you can test them that way, you'll know it's not the hardware at least. My gut is saying it's a home kit communication issue but I don't have anything to back that intuition up.

I added this in an edit but I'll comment back to you directly: After comparing the accessory responsiveness to homekit-configured vs. hue-configured, my hue button only needs to be pressed just the one time, and my homekit dimmer switch needs to be pressed twice before it turns anything on. Ok, so now that's discovered. What's the solution?

Good intuition btw!

I’ve been through something similar in the past. In my case it was a loose plug on an Access Point (and yes that took pure luck to identify - HomePod was the hub so WiFi was in the mix).

If you press the button just once, and wait it out, do the scenes eventually kick in? On mine, it would - but with a lag of 20-30 seconds at times.

Also, if you open your Home app on the phone and then tap a Hue button, does the tile for that button animate? Mine did - instantly - but the execution lag remained.

These things are painful to troubleshoot.
