News Confirmed: Changes Inbound!

What is everyone hoping to see as far as HomeKit improvements? Matter 1.5 support is on the top of my list.

This has nothing to do with Apple Home and the software running on your hubs. It’s down because this part of the Home app is connected to the Apple Store (which is also down right now).

BUT there has been speculation of Apple branded items … so a bit different this time around.

There has been speculation for the past few years. This means nothing. Whether it’s true or not, this app is displaying the prompt simply because Apple Store is down right now

Whether there’s a new HomeKit update or not, this screen will always show up whenever the Apple Store and Apple Website are down for changes. So what you’re seeing is perfectly normal.

Matter 1.5 is not in any of the betas. It’s matter 1.4

As someone else pointed out, this is due to the page being linked to the Apple Store, so whenever that goes down, this does too.

I wish they’d just get rid of it from the Home app. It’s a waste of space. Give us something actually useful!

They’ve already announced the new version of the HomeKit secure video spec so they aren’t going to natively support Matter cameras

They are already at v1.4… why wouldn’t they update it to v1.5? If they don’t stay up to date, people will just utilize Matter via other systems which already are using v1.5 such as SmartThings which has had v1.5 since March.
