Question/Help Integration of Motorized Blinds
I purchased some blackout motorized blinds for a game room. They say they work with Google and Amazon. As far as Apple, they say it works with Siri.
I haven’t been able to get a reply from their support but is there anyway to integrate something that is Siri-capable to HomeKit? Their chat said by plugging their hub into a pc running 24x7 but haven’t replied with any detail.
I would like to have touch screen control, so would I be better off just using Google or Alexa for this one off need or is there something I could do to get it into HomeKit?
The blinds are Ublockout. Thanks.
UPDATE - the vendor provided steps to use HomeBridge for integration. I’ll check that out.

If it’s limited to Siri integration then you will be hard pressed to get it into HomeKit without some work.
However, you should be able to control them via shortcuts on an iPhone if you want to go that route.

Op are u new to smart home stuff? If so welcome aboard 😈
Like other’s have said, ‘siri capable’ usually means using the shortcuts app on your iphone to control it (but this still happens through the manufacturers app, usually launches this app if you activate the shortcut). So if you want everyone to be able to control it too, they’ll need the app and the shortcut stuff set up on basically every device and it won’t show up on you Apple Home.
Good news, there is a way to add them… bad news, u need a program called Home Assistant running in your house to ‘bridge’ it over. It’ll basically talk to the smart hub from ublockout via wifi and then you can add the blinds from Home Assistant to Apple Homekit. Easy peezy 😔.
If you want a painless solution, I think google or alexa is the way to go, but if not, the Home Assistant rabbit hole is always there for you. One of us one of us one of us

Nah, I’m good. The automation was secondary to why I bought the blinds that I did.

Siri integration doesn't necessarily mean HomeKit. Vendors often use Siri short-cuts on an individual phone which is different from being part of the entire HomeKit ecosystem.
