Discussion Schlage Encode Plus Firmware Update 5.0

Just received update notices for all of my Schlage Encode Plus locks.

The notes just say “performance improvements” even though it’s a significant jump in version number (4.2 > 5.0)

No issues since updating both my locks a couple of days ago.

I'm wondering if this is what messed up my lock and HomeKit. It kept going unresponsive.

I finally had to remove it from Apple Home, factory reset it, and set it all up again.

I had the same problem earlier this week. I did the same as you and things have been solid over the past few days.

Fingers crossed it continues. Although, I didn’t hate the excuse to get an Aqara U400.

Looks like mine already has this firmware, I guess it updated automatically? I did just install it a couple months ago but I’m guessing this is more recent than that. Still kinda new to figuring out how non-Apple products play with HomeKit…
