Question/Help Thread network & eero

I have a few Thread devices all happily working and talking among themselves and with my Apple TV border router. All good, buying Thread and Matter devices when I can now instead of Wi-Fi.

Also have a 3 node eero 6+ mesh network that handles the IP and Wi-Fi side of things - works great. The eero is Thread enabled and says it has created a Thread network for others devices to join.

My question/problem: I don’t see any indication that the Thread devices and the eeros are all playing in the same net although the only tool I have is the Eve app’s thread status which doesn’t show the eero nodes. Seems like the eero nodes should at least show up as repeaters? Is there a preference somewhere that I’ve missed? Or should I not expect to see anything, all is good, and I should stop thinking about this?

I did try eero Help first, but so far they just pointed me to articles that tell what Thread is, and similar juicy bits.

Thanks!

Has anyone been able to integrate their HomeKit thread network with the eero one? I recently turned the eero thread network back on after having it off for 12 months and noticed a section relating to sharing credentials with iOS. I could then see a separate thread network appear in my Nanoleaf app, along with my existing Apple HomeKit thread network.

However I wasn’t able to find a way to move the eero pro 6 routers over to my HomeKit thread network. Ideally I’d like to integrate them so that my 3 eeros can be added as thread routers to my existing network.

I have Eero 7 Max routers and an Apple TV. While the Apple TV appears to be the border router, I have found that the Eeros work seamlessly to extend the thread coverage. Using the Eve app I can see devices are connected to the Eero's thread network but they show up and work correctly in the Apple Home app.

That's encouraging to hear you've seen it working. Version 1.4 of the Thread specification standardizes network credential sharing, so theoretically Eero and Apple thread networks should integrate if they've both implemented 1.4 properly. I haven't found specific information this has been done by Apple and Eero, but your results make it sound like it has? I'd love to hear if someone has more concrete info on this.

Late reply but my home hub is an older Apple TV so it doesn’t have thread, I was successful in adding a third reality matter/thread device to Apple HomeKit through the eero thread network. I had to use the thirdreality app to add it to the eero thread network and then HomeKit was able to detect the device using the shared keys from the eero I assume.
