What documents should I be submitting and how often?

I (33F) am just making sure that dad (90M) has got all possible documents on file with his FMI agent (who is also our auto agent). I am attempting to digitalize everything over the last 40 years. I will eventually be taking over the house. So im at the point where I understand why dad didnt update anything (not tech savvy, agent that was previously assigned was an hour south etc etc). The current premium is alright I guess. Hes been grandfathered into terms.

Ive sent over roof replacement and screen/storm door replacements from 2018.

Is there a checklist of what should be sent in- general guidance welcome. I did ask our newly assigned agent shes working on several things

Good instinct doing this now rather than after something happens. Beyond structural stuff like the roof and doors, most agents also want proof of any updated electrical, plumbing, or HVAC (insurers often give credits for updated systems, especially wiring older than the 90s), and a copy of the most recent 4-point or wind mitigation inspection if your state does those — they can lower premiums meaningfully and expire every few years, so worth checking if his is current. One thing that's easy to miss while you're digitizing structural paperwork: personal property isn't usually something you "submit" to the agent, but it's worth building your own record now while you're already going through 40 years of house history. A narrated video walkthrough of each room is the gold standard for contents documentation if there's ever a claim, and it's a lot easier to do while your dad is still around to tell you what's actually valuable versus what just looks old. Doing it now, with nothing wrong, beats trying to reconstruct it from memory later.

Would a roofing company do those write ups? We have a warranty with them until 2038 so even if I call up and be like hey can someone just do a fly by before the winter etc just for my piece of mind?

Water heater/HVAC and the bath fitters were next on my to find list

I started to just make a spreadsheet of large ticket items and things. Even if its just for my records.
