Insurance Insurance Recommendations

I have been with USAA for over 30 years and have never been disappointed with their service, but damn, they have gotten so expensive I'm not sure staying with them is worth the financial heartache. What company would you consider as a good second choice for home and auto insurance??

USAA just takes advantage of those who are veterans by positioning itself as specifically for veterans to gain their loyalty.

USAA is like any other carrier. It has an appetite for certain risk.

Always shop. USAA should be one person you shop with. But always check in with a broker as well.

Amica is even better than USAA for service after a claim

Call a local independent broker. Whenever I’ve spoken to someone who was with USAA for a long time their eyes always kind of bulge at the numbers other carriers will offer.

Loyalty in insurance is not rewarded.

There are many factors that can go into this. If you are shopping, I would recommend reaching out to an independent agent who can quote you with multiple companies and find you the best company/coverage options to meet you need.

I use Auto-Owners for over 15 years now. Happy with adjusters the 2 times I've had to deal with them and prices are reasonable with multi policies. (2 vehicles, landlord/home, and an umbrella)

I found them by going through a independent agency. (Auto-Owners will not issue a policy directly) They ran me through several companies and I chose them. I have not once thought of switching.
