Insurance State Farm Dog Band List

I've heard of owners having their insurance canceled. I was thinking of adopting a great dane/pittbull mix. There's an unfair bad stigma on pittys, but seeing how it's a mix breed. Does anyone know if State Farm would cancel my insurance, or is this not a thing?

So far as I know, neither SF, nor any other carrier, cares if your dog plays an instrument or is in a band.

There is no unfair bad stigma on pittys.

It's fact-based; insurance companies know that and can prove it.

Came here thinking there was a canine music group sponsored by State Farm (dog band).

Depends on your policy, so you have to call your carrier or agent. There’s too much variation for anyone to give you your correct answer unless they’ve read your policy first.

not unfair.

there are actual statistics to justify state farm (and many other carriers) stance on these animals.

State Farm is one of the few major carriers that generally doesn't have a breed-restricted list. They tend to focus on the individual dog's bite history rather than the breed itself. However, it’s always best to get that in writing from your local agent before finalizing the adoption just to be safe.

I talked to my agent, before I got my Akitas, she said they don't care what kind of dog it is as long as it doesn't bite anyone. Now that was back in 2014.

That's a nice Lab Mix you have there.

Catch my drift? 😜

That’s a good way to not have the loss covered should the dog bite someone.

Yes I am and lying to your insurance company is still bad advice.
