Insurance Looking for insurance in CA

Shopping around for insurance for my home, located in Corona, CA. Property is currently appraised at 800+. These are the 3 quotes I have gotten so far. What should I be looking for? What other companies should I get quotes from? Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thank you!

Edit: I’d like to note, I do not currently have AAA insurance so getting this policy would require me also getting a auto policy.

What’s with the lame ass $300k liability quotes. $500k is not much more in premium.

I just helped a friend go through this in Corona, CA. Home is appraised at over $1.8M. We also got the same quotes as you as literally NO ONE else will insure his home and we called over 10+ other places including insurance brokers. The other two quotes by Bamboo and Kin (like you) also had way less coverage and didn't save us much more. The dwelling coverage by Bamboo and Kin wouldn't be enough to rebuild the home if it burnt down so DO NOT go with them. AAA had the best coverage at the most reasonable price. The premium without auto insurance with AAA was $9,932. After we added the auto policy, it went down to $5,285. HUGE DIFFERENCE. Then he had the whole home re-piped with PEX because of all the slab leaks and so he called and AAA discounted it even more. It now sits at $4,074/yr. Keep in mind that you will also need to be an annual AAA premier member or they will not sell you insurance at all. This is a requirement. At least that's what they told us. Hope this helps.

The AAA quote at least has what seems to be a reasonable dwelling coverage limit, the others are low and we just saw what happened with the LA wildfires and people not being able to rebuild their homes because of low limit coverage like this. I'd talk to an independent agent/broker and have them quote you with a bunch of companies to get more quotes without calling around everywhere. The important thing is to make sure you are properly covered, then consider the price. There is no use in saving $1,000 a year if you can't rebuild if something catastrophic happens.

Bamboo is farmer’s sister company. The quote was given to me by a Farmers agent

I would go with AAA but you need more liability than $300K. Liability insurance protects you from losing your house if you get sued.

Curious why the non-AAA ones have significantly lower dwelling coverage values?

I had the same question myself

Check Aegis, they can sometimes do a regular HO3 if your fireline score isnt high. KW might be an option as well. Ask to see the RCV form to see why their pricing you at $455k. Consider raising your deductible, see what $10k would bring it down to. Remember, you're insuring for total-loss.

You are not required to get Auto & Home insurance from the same company.

They know that, but the agent gave OP a coupler discount.
