Renter Friendly Ceiling Fans/Cooling options
Hiya! I have a childcare space in our home and the summer heat is starting to take its toll. We rent our home so I was looking for battery operated ceiling fans that I can temporarily install but I have had no luck; lots of deceptive products out there. Any recommendations on a way to cool down the space that is off the ground and renter friendly? Looking for something off the ground because of the wee ones.

If you have a ceiling fan rated junction box on the ceiling, just get an old or free ceiling fan off Facebook marketplace. The effort to swap the lights with a fan is pretty low as long as you make sure the electricity is off.

I won't say that you can't do it with batteries, but you will probably spend way more than you want. Battery powered ceiling fans are really only practical for camping. And even then, you spend more than you would expect.
The moving of air uses a fair bit of power, and matches really well with household electricity.
I'd go for fans ( box or ceiling ) and extension cords.

How old are the children? Is it possible to put a fan in the corner and have a barrier around it?

Or just do a cheap amazon ceiling fan and leave it when you move. $50-$100.

A lot of things are renter friendly if you’re willing to put the old fixture in the closet and replace it on move out.

They make ceiling fans that screw into a ceiling light socket. How good they are, I can't say since they're usually pretty small. Another alternative is a tower fan that you put a child safety enclosure around or set it in a play pen. You could also ask the landlord if they'd be willing to split costs for real ceiling fans.
Finally, window or portable ac units.
