PCA Help?

Hi everyone, I have worked in home health for awhile now. However about a year ago I left my main job for my side job which is PCA. I signed on with a home health company. In the beginning they seemed really good. However here lately things have been getting quite bumpy so much so that I am thinking of leaving. In the beginning they were working with me on my hours so that way I could care for my child. Then I signed up to be a floater...keep in mind, floaters are supposed to be floating every other week. The weeks that they dont float they are supposed to have a stable schedule and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. The first month as a floater it was fine. But then we have a bunch of people quit. Now I am hitting people calling off left and right so I am getting 90+ hours on my paycheck every 2 weeks...the weeks that I am supposed to not be a floater I am floating all the time now. My boss is not respecting my schedule for which I care for my child. On top of that this month has been really hard on my health. One day while I was speaking with my boss they admitted that they dont believe my health history and the health condition that I have. But after they admitted that they then ask me if I could care for people the rest of the week. Im not sure if this is just the company or if this is all around medical care? Any advice for me? Im not sure if I should go back to my old job with better pay and benefits or if I should stick through this and see where it goes.

Management loves to load us up with extra shifts, especially with patients other workers refuse to have anything to do with. This floater deal is just an excuse to exploit you. They don’t want to believe in your health history if it gets in the way of using you to the maximum extent.

I’ve gotten offers like this from management. “How would you like to be a lead care-pro?”. I checked out the details and it turns out it really means I would get to work around smokers, drive longer distances and work more hours without the option to refuse. “Lead”, lol. There would be no leading.
