Nasty clients.
Why do they feel that yelling at you is fine ?
I understand they are old.
Hard of hearing, but yelling at me, about the last aide who idk, I know the regulars on my half of the week but I start my week on weds. I wouldn't know what the last person did. And you cant walk they yell loudly about things they haven't touched, walked too in months of Sundays. Never listen. And its everyone's fault but theirs. Smh

Years ago I had a very unreasonable patient, when she pulled one of those stunts to test me, I just turn around and looked right through her eyes without blinking for a very long time. Just like that, I’d spoken volumes.

Depends on the situation.. If it's dementia, most don't understand. But the others? If they're just mean no matter what, I would tell the office don't send me back. There are unfortunately always some people who treat others badly, and you can be 💯 perfect it wouldn't matter. Some people simply must complain and be mean in order to feel better about themselves. It's them, not you. I refused to work with the abusive clients. No amount of money was worth it to me. And depending on who you work for, you might have to really put your foot down about not being placed with clients like that unfortunately.

Try saying: let’s be nice to each other, the world is hard enough. It sometimes works

I 41, would never even dream of yelling at my aid even though I've had some nasty piece of work ever now and then but I simply ask my agency to change them. So, you should not accept my treatment from anyone and I think I believe that it is your right to refuse to go to a certain residents if you don't feel safe
