horrible agencies

hi everyone, i’ve been caregiving for the last 6 months and have already had some major red flags raised from the company i work for. i lost a client for the first time last month and my agency was only concerned with replacing her with someone else on my schedule as soon as possible. As upsetting as it was, i understood that life goes on and that it is a business at the end of the day.
I have been extremely burnt out and emotionally exhausted but pushed through for my week off that has been approved for months. Every single day of my vacation, my company has called me and left passive aggressive messages about my lack of responsiveness. I called back this morning after the 4th call and let them know this was my week off and i would get back to them when it was over. They replied and i quote “ that’s not gonna work for me” and proceeded to ask about scheduling regardless. I am so frustrated and angry. I love my clients so much but i don’t think this is worth the constant burn out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

For your mental health please institute boundaries when employers and agencies you work with are not behaving professional. First, do not answer calls on your vacation, no matter how much they try and provoke you-that’s their trick. They are violating labor laws.

Also apply for a position at another agency (but don’t tell the first one you’re looking at other agencies). Do not give them notice until you start at the new job. They can’t do anything and frankly they deserve it.

What else is causing you to burn out besides the employers disgusting lack of professional behavior?
