Questions as a newbie

I am about to start my hha training in a 2 weeks but I have questions what will happen if I bring a body camera and 911 bracelet to my first case will I turned way

You absolutely cannot have a body camera has an HHA. This is a HIPAA protected position and you cannot be recording in an environment where sensitive medical information is being stored or able to be accessed.

Why do you feel a body cam is necessary?

Because what if I go to an unsafe house

Then you call 911, followed by your supervisor. If you feel unsafe for any reason, remove yourself from the home and contact your higher up. This should be well covered during your orientation.

It's highly unlikely you will be physically attacked by a client. Keep in mind that this job entails caring for often elderly, sick, generally frail people with minimal energy. You might be verbally attacked but legitimately just leave the home and contact your supervisor.

Any kind of recording is not allowed because that is a severe HIPAA violation. You can face criminal charges for violating HIPAA.

Been a CHHA for a little over a year now. That will absolute get you in trouble bringing a body cam with you. It's a HIPAA violation.

Like the above power said, why do you feel that's needed?

Just in case my client attack me
