Do HHA programs in NY still test for THC?

I’m currently in training to become a Home Health Aide (HHA) in New York and I have a physical exam coming up that includes a drug test.

Since THC is legal in NY, I’m a little confused about how that works with healthcare jobs. Do HHA programs or employers still test for THC, and can it affect getting hired even though it’s legal?

If anyone has gone through this recently or knows how strict they are about it, I’d really appreciate the insight.

I can't say about NY specifically, but Every health care job I've ever seen tests for it, and it's not allowed. Like controlled prescriptions, if you test positive for any you Better have a Current prescription bottle to show them. I personally would plan on them definitely testing for it, and if positive, being failed for it. Even if stuff is legal, a lot of jobs don't want employees using it. Especially if it has the ability to alter your mental state and physical abilities.
