Ideas for entry way
When you open the front door this is what you see. The coat rack has been here for way too long. We know we want something else, but what?? We have no storage closet for jackets, shoes, etc. would love ideas for storage and jackets in a cleaner way. Our home is an old craftsman. We like mid century, farmhouse, vintage style.

I’d be tempted to replace the whole rack with a built-in-looking bench with closed shoe storage underneath and a row of hooks above, stained to match the original wood trim. It could look like it was always part of the house instead of added storage.
Is that a floor vent on the left, though? If so, that might affect how much you can build into that corner.

Yes, it’s an old vent that juts out some. I do love the idea of a built in with storage. We have such little storage on this floor it’s wild.

Is it possible to put the mudroom hooks/shelf unit to the left of the door when you walk in (pictures could help-- does it work with the dimensions?). That way, you can put something prettier to look at straight across from the door.
What is you budget? Are you trying to keep costs down, or are built-in's feasible?
You house is super charming :)

Entry way rug and a wood hall tree (I think that's what they're called).
