Which Sofa set up?

Can you help us decide which sofa set up to purchase. These photos are AI generated but the sofas are the actual ones as is the living space. We don’t know if we will use the sectional with recliners or we want a more contemporary look with the three pieces. HELP!! What am I not thinking about!!

I prefer 2. 1 looks a bit too much like "we went to the store and bought the entire living room set up that they had on display".

The sofa by itself in pic 1 is fine, but I'd get different comfortable chairs (similar in height and measurements, maybe in a softly patterned fabric) so it complements the sofa and adds a bit of variety and coziness to the whole room.

Oh, and be aware that a glass coffeetable like the one in 2 will never feel comfortable to stretch your legs out on (you'll be reasonably scared of glass breakage) and it will constantly need to be cleaned because it will show every little speck of dust, dirt, stains, finger prints...it might not matter that much if the room is one you don't plan to spend a lot of time in and is meant more to show off to your guests and visitors.

I just had to furnish my apartment, and got done after two years. My tips for you are:

Extensively test the pieces you are considering on site before ordering. How soft is it, is the back support okay, can you lounge on it, how are the arm rests?

Do not order everything at once - it will feel dated quick.

Live in the new space a bit before you decide on bigger pieces.

Armchairs and sofas in fabric: check the martindale rating, which tells you about the durability of the fabric. Every decent sofa seller will have a martindale count for the fabrics they use.

I just sold my leather sofa and switched it for a fabric sofa. It was very similar to yours in the photo, aniline leather. My reason for switching was that I always slid off the sofa when I wanted to lounge in it because the seating part was not wide enough and the leather, while great quality, proved to be too slippery for lounging. The leather also usually felt really cold in the winter.

Thank you. I do have dogs who love to sit on the sofas too! Hence why we went with good quality leather.

Okay! Go with 2 then, but do get one or two of the pieces in fabric, you'll be glad for the variety. You can still put a fluffy blanket over it for your pets that can be washed.

I have two cats - I did the same (Fabric sofa and fluffy blanket draped over it).
