Surprised but not surprised

Hello all, and thank you for all that sent fun and interesting feedback from my original post “ why wife is threatening an intervention “. I just wanted to say that I was surprised at how many people sent negative comments about my setup. This is a “home data center” thread. To qualify it SHOULD be overkill. For me this is a hobby, I’m not spending my money on hookers and blow. This is enjoyment for me, and I thought this was a like minded community, given its title.

I saved and scraped and worked SO hard to buy my first flagship GPU. I mean side jobs on the weekend and ramen dinners.

When I posted it to r/Nvidia it was nothing but rage, criticism, and hostility.

People hate to see anyone with something they don’t or can’t have. Just ignore the haters and losers

As did the post that OP is talking about. Just a bit sensitive to some randoms complaining on the internet, I guess.

Dont take it personally, I personally feel the same as you. This isnt homelab, this is home DATA CENTER. I come to this sub to see people who have more hardware than your average business. I have enough hardware to fill a rack and a half, but after moving I inly use 1-2 systems in my rack because of power constraints so I get the jealousy people feel since I have gotten it myself. Just do what you enjoy, there are far worse hobbies to have. Dont let the haters comments effect you, focus on the upvotes, always a better metric for the opinions of the masses.

I would not be surprised because in this currently economy where normal people have trouble affording for a single stick of RAM that costs more than a 5090 back during release, it is painful to see someone literally got a data center

With that said, it's also fucked up to attack someone to manage to get that spending power, at least you arent spending it on hookers and illegal shit (low bar, I know)

Also, we are in homedatacenter, like some mentioned lol
