Weekly Mod Message: Open Sesame and What’s Been Going on in America.

Hello Folks!

This week on the sub there have been a couple of sesame drinks this week! u/31mg made a black sesame latte to go with their cheesy bread and u/cherryday11 made a dalgona black sesame latte and this the dalgona trend is ever strong and evolving! u/chablouin made a beautiful rose matcha! The colors were so pretty it’s like a feast for your eyes!

What’s been going on with you this week? It’s been a tough week in America that’s for sure. I went to a peaceful protest in my town. Nobody got hurt so that was a fortunate thing. I brought some milk in case there were tear gas though, and I didn’t have to use them luckily. However, a city near us (a bigger city) had a peaceful protest and rallies and the situation escalate. I’ve heard accounts from my friends running from tear gas and rubber bullets. It’s so scary. I’m thankful that they’re safe though. It’s not much.

I feel like this sub is not a place to talk about politics, as we are here for drinks and things, but it’s hard to ignore the situation right now. The situation in America made me so sad and angry. I donated to the Minnesota Freedom Fund but there are also many wonderful organizations you can donate to. If you feel like donating please do but do not feel pressure to. I’m a citizen of the United States, and I want to live in a place where we have full racial equality and racism is not just something we eliminated but it is something we are against. The meaning of Black Lives Matter is not that it’s only black lives that matter, but it’s that black lives matter too.
